"Fraserburgh: Past and Present"

Saturday 10th March 2012

The email copied below says that a fully searchable version of
"Fraserburgh: Past and Present" by J. Cranna -1914. is available.

Dear all,
Following on from the previous posts on this topic, I’m pleased to say that the copyright status of the illustrations has now been resolved and we are able to make the illustrated version of the book available for free download.
The "illustrated version" is in PDF form and is fully searchable and contains bookmarks to aid navigation through the chapters. The file size is approximately 6.5MB.It can be downloaded from the following site:

("DOWNLOADS" is at the top of this link page.)

This is a temporary home for the book. The University of Aberdeen Library has kindly agreed to include the book in their digital collection and it will become available via their system within the next few weeks. We are also in discussion with Aberdeenshire Libraries and hope to also make the book available through their library network. For those unfamiliar with the work, the book is a 500+ page history of Fraserburgh written by John Cranna, who was the Harbour Treasurer when the book was published in 1914.
With the copyright period on the book having expired some years ago, the book is now able to be made freely available.
The book was digitised by some volunteers from the Fraserburgh Group on Yahoo

Please contact me if you have any problems with the download.
